Glazed Almond Bundt Cake
delicious Bundt cake using ground almonds, sliced almonds, and almond extract.
Ingredients
Cake:
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
½ cup ground almonds
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups white sugar
4 eggs
1 ⅔ teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract
1 cup milk
Glaze:
1/4 cup milk
3/4 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 cup sliced almonds
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan.
Make the cake: Mix together flour, ground almonds, baking powder, and salt. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then stir in vanilla and almond extract. Beat in flour mixture alternately with milk, mixing just until incorporated. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
Bake in the preheated oven for 60 to 70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes, then invert on a wire rack and cool for 10 more minutes.
Meanwhile, make the glaze: Combine milk, sugar, almond extract, and almonds in a bowl.
Set the wire rack and cake over a sheet of waxed paper. Pour glaze over warm cake
